Darrin Wolmarans getting filmed at the Junior Roof of Africa last year

Darrin Wolmarans (13) has come a long way in his three years of off-road racing with the South Coast Cadets Club and has often put Zululand on the podium. He finished second overall out of 27 riders in last year’s Natal Regional Harescramble’s 85cc class and third overall out of 25 riders in the Natal Junior Off-Road Club’s 85cc series. He also finished ninth out of 18 riders in the SA National Junior Championship’s 85cc class, despite only competing in three of the seven events for the year. In his first national race, he achieved a third place in the tough Junior Roof of Africa in Lesotho and came fourth in the Boshoff National race in Kimberley. He was coming second at the Hluhluwe National Race, but had to retire on his last lap due to mechanical problems. If he had finished second, he would have finished first in the regional championships and sixth in the national championships. This year Darrin will be competing in the 85cc senior class on his Honda CRF150R. Judging from last year’s results, he will be a strong competitor. However, racing around the country is costly and Darrin is appealing to anyone who is able to sponsor him in anyway, so that he can compete in all the national and regional events this year. If you can help, contact Raymond on 083 7308645. All the national events are televised on DSTV’s Rapid Motion Dirt Worx and gives sponsors plenty of coverage. All sponsors are also advertised on the motorbike and vehicle. Darrin would like to thank Craig and Alan of Signforce, Honda Tangawizi and his mom, dad, Peter Trollip, Brett Hume and all his teammates who supported him last year.
