New Rector at Unizulu

Prof Ntom’fikile Mazibuko - tough task ahead
The University of Zululand has a new woman at the helm.
Professor Ntomb’fikile Mazibuko has been appointed Rector and Vice-Chancellor and took office on Monday. She replaces Prof Rachel Gumbi.
She moves to Zululand from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where she held the post of Deputy Vice Chancellor and Head of College of Humanities.
The new Rector is an alumnus of Unizulu, having completed her BA Social Work degree in 1973 and her Honours in 1975.
Unizulu’s Chairman of Council, Bheki Ntuli, said, ‘We welcome Professor Mazibuko as an icon in social development and a champion in social work. Her stay at our comprehensive institution will enhance the vision and mission of the university.’
