Community member, Sharon Mdletshe assesses the damages in the one room building

A Mzingazi family is fighting for their lives after their house was deliberately set alight by an unidentified intruder. In the early hours of Sunday morning, community member Sharon Mdletshe rushed to the aid of a mother and her two young children who suffered severe burn injuries when their home went up in flames. It is believed an intruder broke the window in the one-room building, sprinkled a flammable substance inside and set the place alight. The identity of the family could not be revealed for security reasons.

Appeal
Mdletshe has appealed to the community for donations to repair the building, as well as replace the furniture, clothing and appliances which were destroyed during the fire. ‘Everything was lost and the community is willing to assist in rebuilding and restoring the property, but we need sponsorships for building materials. ‘It is only one small room, so there is not much cost involved. ‘We will also need clothing for the seven year-old girl and her 18 month-old brother.
