Motivating hospital staff

Ngwelezana Hospital recently launched a new Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to enhance service delivery. This on the back of recurring public complaints regarding demotivated and uncaring staff. According to Ngwelezana Hospital spokesperson, Tobias Gumede, the purpose of the EAP is to create a fully functional structure that deals with problems faced by staff.‘This will assist in creating a stress free environment at work and it will enhance good working relationships amongst our staff,’ said Gumede. At the launch, guest speaker Nonhlahla Zulu emphasised the important of each staff member contributing to the image of the hospital.‘When patients leave they must be able to say good things about us because of the quality service we render to them,’ she said.
