Shave or spray - it’s Shavathon time

STORY: Connie Williamson

Cansa shavathon

Ready to spray and shave for the 2010 CANSA Shavathon
Ready to spray and shave for the 2010 CANSA Shavathon is CANSA representative - Leoni Starker-Fox and the Zin-Zan’s team - Tersia White, Sue Mulder, Sam Fourie, Susan Horn, Cindy van Aswegen and (front) Lou Mulder

In memory of his late dad, 18 year-old Lou Mulder of Richards Bay went under the hair clipper for the seventh national CANSA Shavathon earlier this week. Kick-starting the annual Shavathon fund-raiser, Mulder and the Zin-Zan’s Salon team invite the public to support the initiative at their premises in Essenwood Centre this Saturday from 8am. After Mulder’s dad lost the battle with cancer in September 2008, he and his mother, Sue, have pledged to honour his memory by participating and promoting CANSA fund-raising events. ‘This year the salon has taken the initiative to host our first Shavathon in conjunction with the Elysium Beauty Salon,’ said Zin-Zan’s owner Sue. A spray or shave for adults costs R50, while children under 12 pay R25. Workplace Shavathons will be held on Friday and public Shavathons will take place on Saturday at various shopping centres.
