THE third annual Gestetner Rugby Festival was hosted by Felixton College over the weekend.
Pongola Akademie, Beaulieu (of the Midrand), St Patrick’s (Kokstad), Clifton (Durban) and the local contingent of Richards Bay Christian School, Richards Bay High School, Grantleigh and hosts Felixton College participated in Zululand schools’ premier rugby event.
Matches were played on Friday, Saturday and Monday and the rugby was of an extremely high standard, competitive and it provided wonderful entertainment for spectators.
Being a festival, there was no individual competition, except a trophy for the team who displayed the best sportsmanship.
This was, once again, awarded to
St Patrick’s, who earned the respect of everyone.
The boys and their coaches were hosted at Canefields, enjoying first class accommodation and food.
Thanks to the Zululand Rugby Academy who provided each team with chaperones.
The 2009 festival was an overwhelming success and was enjoyed by all who attended and participated.
