Casino forges ahead

Peermont Umfolozi Casino Marketing Manager - Natasha Pedro welcomes the establishment’s new General Manager - Herman Brits
Construction of the Peermont Umfolozi Hotel and Casino in Empangeni - formerly Tusk Umfolozi Casino - is running on schedule.
That’s the word from the facility’s new General Manager, Herman Brits.
He says the development, which is valued at R115-million, is going to be opened in three phases. In June, the Salon Prive gaming hall will be opening.
In July the main floor refurbishments will be completed, and in November the hotel and convention centre will be opened for business.
Brits, who will be taking over from Tusk Umfolozi General Manager Clive Taverner, comes with an impressive service history.
He began his career at the Department of Foreign Affairs State Visits department in 1991 and soon moved on to the City Lodge Group, Sun International and Fidelio Software.
Brits then joined Peermont Global as Operations Manager at Emperor’s Palace. ‘I am very excited about joining Umfolozi and I am really looking forward to this new challenge,’ he said.
