Botes new CEO

Mhlathuze Water has appointed experienced General Manager: Operations, Vic Botes, as Acting CEO. This follows the decision not to confirm CEO Silas Mbedzi’s full-time appointment after his six months’ probation period. The development comes amidst claims of irregularities against Mbedzi and his report to Water Affairs Minister Buyelwa Sonjica which led to the dissolving of the Mhlathuze Board. After reviewing claims of ‘false information’ in Mbedzi’s report, Sonjica dismissed the new Board appointed and reinstated the previous one.
