A brightly coloured mural now greets young victims of crime visiting the Richards Bay SAPS trauma centre.
Thanks to the generous gesture by community member Kim Solomons, the trauma room has been transformed into a calm and safe environment for youngsters.
Richards Bay SAPS spokesperson, Captain Debbie Ferreira, thanked Solomons for her time and effort in contributing towards the makeover of the room. ‘Currently a LifeLine Zululand crisis counsellor is placed at the police station and aimed at supporting the SAPS in assisting victims of crime, the general public and the SAPS members themselves. ‘Counsellor Bridget Happy Mbuyazi is now stationed at the Richards Bay SAPS during office hours and available for immediate assistance to any member of the public,’ she said.
