Clash of the generations

The old and the new combination - veteran Louis van Zyl and 10 year-old Cornel Klopper
The Richards Bay Tennis Club champions assembled recently to bring in remembrance to the famous clash of times between Roger Federer and Pete Sampras.
The very, very experienced versus the young up-and-coming generation traded blows - from the young 10 year-olds to the experienced 68 year-old.
Owen Balwanth won the men’s singles against Braam de Villiers 6-4, 6-3.
Young Amber Greyling annexed the ladies’ champion title in beating Carina Walters 6-0, 6-0.
In the men’s doubles, veteran campaigners Owen Balwanth and Braam de Villiers beat Johan Gouws and 12 year-old CJ Klopper 6-1, 6-4.
In a marathon mixed doubles final Anri Fischer and Phillip Fouche beat Petro Norval and Johan Gouws 0-6, 6-4, 11-9.
In the plate finals Thys Walters beat the young Gunter Kelling 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
In the mixed doubles plate final Louis van Zyl en Magda Blignaut beat the young CJ Klopper and Amber Greyling.
Van Zyl was crowned Sportsman of the Tournament and Klopper got the prize for Junior of the Tournament.
