ESHOWE’S top athlete Justine Palframan has returned from the IAAF World Youth Athletic 2009 Championships with a fourth place in the 400m.
She narrowly missed the finals in the 200m.
The championship took place from 8-12 July in the town of Bressanone/Brixon near the Austrian border in northern Italy where the top youth athletes from 170 countries gathered. Justine finished third in the 200m semi-finals in a time of 24.17 seconds, but unfortunately only the first two of the three semi-finalists and the two best losers went through to the final.
In the 400m, Justine won her first heat and came third in the semi-final, good enough to get her through to the final.
She ran a time of 54.55 seconds in the final to finish fourth.
