An excellent development

One of 33 athletes chosen to attend the Triathlon Development Academy at Tuks is local star Kerryn Farrell
Local athlete Kerryn Farrell was recently selected to attend the Triathlon Development Academy at Pretoria University.
This development academy has been established to train and prepare junior athletes to race at elite level.
Top athletes who have attended the prestigious training centre include the likes of Hendrik de Villiers and Carla Germishuys.
Kerryn is one of 33 athletes identified out of 297 juniors to be selected for the academy.
The long-term goal for the athletes who make it through this process is the 2020 Olympic Games.
Kerryn’s performances over the past two seasons were closely monitored by Triathlon South Africa and she clearly proved her worth at both provincial and national level.
She now joins the select few junior SA triathletes in this initiative.
Kerryn will leave for Pretoria during the first week of October, where she will undergo a week of intensive training and testing to
prepare her for the first eight months of this programme.
