A chuffed Tony Brown celebrates his third hole-in-one in 15 months on the 11th hole in Richards Bay on 10 August*
IF you believe in luck, then you should convince Tony Brown to buy your next Lotto ticket.
The Richards Bay golfer has recorded an amazing three hole-in-ones in 15 months.
The first was achieved on 24 May 2008 on the 8th hole at the Richards Bay Country Club.
Tony then had almost a year’s wait for his next one, this time on the 9th at the Empangeni Country Club on 13 June.
But within a month, he was coughing up for another round of drinks as his drive off the 11th in Richards Bay on 10 August ended up in the cup. Although, his hole-in-one last year was on a Saturday, the two this year were on a Monday and Tuesday so they didn’t cost him too much.
Enquiries to verify if this is some kind of record have proved unfruitful. But this isn’t just dumb luck - all three have gone straight into the hole, with no rebounds off obstacles, and quite often he has hit the flag pole without the ball into the cup.
Testament to Tony’s skill at straight driving. Now if only he can find players to make up a four-ball.
